Notes:
Herbs semi-succulent. Roots fleshy and thick. Leaves green above and glaucous beneath or completely glaucous when young and where fully exposed. Florets yellow, closed when collected in early evening, 1-1.5 cm across capitula in morning. Phyllaries with numerous dark purple glands. Common in this seafront area of Nuku'alofa and usually with leaves unlobed or only shallowly lobed; compare New Zealand Sonchus kirkii.
