Notes:
Tufted grass. Inflorescence stems to 60-70 cm long; habit erect or sub-erect from an ascending lower part. Spikes diverging to at least 45° from central rachis. Spikelets green to ±reddish-purple, the awns especially with the latter colour. Locally common.
