Habitat:
Broad crest, Chionochloa rigida tussock land, well drained, brown loess soil; 10° slope. South aspect. Hummocky ground, partly bared.
Notes:
Scape (9)-12-(19) cm. Heads 16-20 mm. Leaves (2)-5-(6) cm, white, woolly. Flowers yellow. Rosettes usually clustered, often 2-3 together, but also numerous single rosettes. Small plants occur with tussock grassland. Larger ones are on road verge soil.
