Habitat:
Coastal gravel plain/beach ridge system. Among open red tussock, flax, Coprosma propinqua and bracken.
Notes:
Locally common over 200m extent, but not generally abundant in this area. Male. Inflorescence 90cm tall. This population has narrower pinnae and often less glaucous foliage than typical for the species. Apex of inflorescence, lower most bract on inflorescence and mid level bract of male inflorescence.
