Top of large bank outside garden, on shrubs.
Notes:
Vine covering posts. Leaves scabridulous above. Flowers greenish-white. Male flowers 1-20mm across; corolla lobes 6-9mm long, ovate (3-4mm wide). Female flowers 17-20mm across; corolla lobes 8x3.5mm, ovate or oblong-ovate. Fruit 9-11x6.5-8.5cm, (6-7cm deep), more or less broadly obovoid but tending irregular towards apex, with indistinct longitudinal ridge along which are numerous prickles; apex with transverse groove; base sunken with radiating grooves and ridges (all shallow). Seed about 3.5cm by 2.5cm, broad-ellipsoid, flat and thin. A small patch. Apparently adventive.
