Notes:
Much-branched shrubs to 4m tall. leaves glaucous below; hairy when young (especially under surfaces). Bitter to taste. Saw-fly galls green with red hue. Young stems yellow hairy. Planted by NZ Forest Service in Ruahine Ranges (up-river) as "Salix piperi".
