Habitat:
Ridge top forest, leaning Metrosideros kermadecensis trunk.
Notes:
Rhizomes creeping. Stipes dark. Fronds pendent, light green and pellucid, i.e. paler than the abundant Hymenophyllum demissum. The latter was present on the other side of the trunk. Hymenophyllum flabellatum is very rare.
