Habitat:
Top edge of near vertical sea cliffs with adjoining pasture. Possible site of dumped garden refuse (see 2848 - CHR 500193). Growing with Ulex europaeus and ungrazed pasture grasses.
One patch c.30cm diameter. Leaves dull, membranous. Flowers with outer half of tepals scarlet, grading to deep wine then yellow in centre. Stigma 3-fid.
