Habitat:
Garden boundary area, beneath large Acalyphas and coconuts.
Notes:
Shrubs c. 2 m high or less. Young shoots ± compressed laterally. Leaves often subcoriaceous, shining dark green above, fine vein reticulum beneath; petioles sometimes purplish-red when young. One small inflorescence with a few greenish-white abortive flowers lacking corolla, stamens, style and stigma. A small number of apparently spontaneous plants.
