Notes:
Clump-forming bamboo with graceful arching culms to c.4m high, becoming ± yellow. Leaves with minutely puberulent ligule. Plant began flowering around mid winter; now c.3/4 of whole clump converted to inflorescence bearing branches, these having become ±purple. Spikelets c.10mm long. Spikelets purple, the lower sterile< upper. Stamens and styles three. Lodicules c.2mm long.
