Habitat:
Bog near road, in sodden peat.
Notes:
Small dense shrubs usually between 20 and 50cm high. Leaves aromatic when bruised, reddish when young, at maturity dark shining green above, very pale glaucescent beneath, coriaceous. Very young fruits globular, pink, on recurved pedicels; sepals reflexing. Common near road for 100 metres or more.
