Notes:
Erect herb from rosette-leaved base. Flowers yellow, zygomorphic. V. thapsus common in vicinity. V. virgatum in region but not seen close by. The serrate bracts and calyx lobes suggest V. cretica, but in other respects this single plant seems intermediate between the two putative parents.
