Notes:
Clump-forming bamboo with culms mostly 2-3m high, a few 3-4m. Rhizomes running, with new shoots up to c.1m away from main clump. Stem sheaths purple, blotched black; sheath lamina with pinkish-green marginal band. Culms green, becoming yellow about 2nd year, grooved on one side. Leaves glaucescent beneath.
