Dense stand of culms 3-4m high; rhizomes moderately creeping. Culms flattened on one side except for basal internodes, glaucous-white when young, then green, later yellow; lower nodes congested and erect to top. See Supplementary Label. See Wood Collection

Supplementary remarks:
Branches spreading widely and thus habit open. Leaves somewhat glaucescent beneath, light green above, not drooping as in most other Phyllostachys species around. Culms sheaths (1 stem only seen) pinkish-brown, unspotted; sheath lamina green. Slowly spreading on this steep bank.
