Notes:
Large rather open stand with rhizomes running. Culms 6-8m high, usually remaining deep green. Culm sheaths pale brown with dark mottling towards apex. Sheath tip light green; margin whitish. Small culm shoots with greenish tips. Leaves glaucescent beneath. Very common in the Auckland region.
