Notes:
Large shrub to c.3m high, forming a thicket, spreading by layering. Leaves dark shining green above with impressed viens. Petioles with purple base. A single adventive thicket. Flowers in terminal corymbs, i.e. flat-topped. Corolla crimson; tube very slender, usually c.3.5 cm, sometimes c.4.5cm; lobes ± patent, star-forming, 1.3-1.5 x c. 0.6 cm, elliptic. Style thread-like, red.
