Habitat:
Coastal makatea forest, by rough road through middle of forest, in canopy gap.
Notes:
Subshrub with lax branches to c.2m high. Leaves whitish downy when young persistently so beneath. Inflorescence rachis brownish. Flowers enclosed by silky white, retrorse, sharp-pointed bracts. Fairly common.
