Coastal scrub on makatea.
Notes:
Subshrub with rather straggling habit, attaining a height of over 2 metres amongst other shrubs. Shoots and young leaves dark reddish-purple. Mature leaves with purplish midrib and vein network beneath purple. Inflorescence with bracts silvery pink or purplish. Abundant.
