Steep slope of loess.
Notes:
Succulent arborescent shrub to c.70cm high and many small branches; trunk c.1-1.5cm thick. Lvs in terminal rosettes to c.10cm across, not flattened. Stem scars prominent, elongated. Lvs to 9×3 cm, obovate or obovate-spathulate, 2-3mm thick, green, flat (almost); margins green with slight reddening near apiculate apex. Infl. approaching ½ flowers out, glabrous, to c. 15×14 cm, broadly ocoid-pyramidal; bracts present when collected. Calyx lobes c.2.5× 1.2-1.5mm, triangular. Petals 8 to 9 in no. 8-9×c.2.5mm, narrowly elliptic-lanceolate, ±cream. Stamens 5.7-7mm long, pale greenish-cream. Carpels greenish-cream. Scales c. 0.8mm long, rectangular-cuneate, white, ± retuse. Common apparently (ie. if one includes Sykes 237/87 & 238/87)
