Notes:
Succulent arborescent shrub with trunk to c.70cm high and 2cm thick. Scars narrowed and elongated;lateral branches many and short. Rosettes of later- al branches to 14cm across, not very flattened. Lvs to c. 7x2.7cm, obovate-spathulate, c.2mm thick completely green, almost flat apart from slight keel; apex apiculate. Infl on a lateral branch 15x10cm, ±ovoid-pryamidal, almost glabrous (A. arboreum should be puberulent); bracts few at full anthesis. Calyx lobes c. 1.5x1mm triangular. Petals 10-11 in no., 6.5-7mm long, yellow. Scales 0.7-0.9mm long, ± rectangular, very pale yellow, truncate. Carpels pale yellow, white towards base. Probably fairly common.
