Habitat:
Steep slope of loess, with Argyranthemum scrub. Wild
Notes:
Succulent arborescent shrub to just over 1m tall and with trunk nearly 2.5cm thick. Scars +/- lozenge-shaped, brow. Branches very few and short. Lvs in terminal rosettes; no main ones seen, but small lateral ones to c.10cm diam. Lvs of lateral rosettes to c.8x3.3cm, broadly spatulate-obovate, 2-3mm thick, green, including margins, flat with slight keel, apex apiculate. Infl. a pyramida c.24x18cm minutely glandular-puberulent, (not an A. undulatum feature); apex ± pointed; bracts present at this time of early flowering. Calyx lobes c.1.5-1.7x1.1-1.2mm triangular. Petals 10 in no. 8.5-9xc.2.5mm, ±narrowly elliptic-oblong, golden. Stamens 7-7.7mm long, yellow. (whorls of similar length). Carpels yellow. Scales c.1mm long, retangular-cuneate, whitish; apex truncate-erose. A few plants only seen.
