Habitat:
Fairly steep sheltered bank in semi-shade a few metres a.s.l. Adventive.
Notes:
Arborescent, succulent shrub; with small trunks to c. 1.5cm. diam. & 30cm high; branches few and short. Lvs in flat terminal rosettes to c.12cm diam. Lvs to c.7x2cm. (limited material available), spathulate-obovate, green, flattened, c.2mm thick; margins green, apex apiculate. Stem scars narrowly elongated. (Specimen of leafy rosette A possibly from a different plant and therefore possibly of a different form or hybrid?) Flowers in a terminal ovoid-pyramidal spike c.20×15cm; apex blunt and infl. rather open for A. arboreum. Calyx lobes c.1.7-2 × 1.2mm, ± triangular-oblong. Petals (9)-10 in no. c.7×2mm, linear or linear-elliptic, medium yellow. Carpels pale greenish-yellow. Scales 0.5-0.6mm long, ± cuneate & closely truncate; white-translucent. Few plants.
