Habitat:
Roadside Macraonesian scrub beneath pine canopy on slope.
Notes:
Scattered plants. Mostly past full flowering on more open slopes. Arborescent plant with "trunk" 20-30 cm x 1.5 cm. No proper leaf rosettes present when collected. Leaves on the few small side branches, obovate- spathulate, flat and green, with cillate margin. Infl with few bracts at full flowering, c/12 x 9cm. ovoid with rounded top, glandular-puberulent. Calyx lobes 1.5-2mm long, triangular. Petals (7)-8-9 in number, golden, little difference in whorl length. Styles 2.5-3mm long, greenish-yellow. Scales c.1mm long, broadly rectangular, whitish, translucent, emarginate or erose.
