Habitat:
Roadside "thicket" of Argyranthemum on slope.
Notes:
Arborescent plant with main "trunk" c. 20 cm high (broken off) and 2.5cm diam. Terminal rosette of leaves c. 20 cm across. Leaves in semi-shade, to c. 11 x 2.5 cm, ± spathulate, thin, flat, green, including the ciliolate margins; apex apiculate. Infl. c. 16 x 10 cm. +/- broadly ovoid with rounded top, more open than usual for this species, minutely glandular-puberulent. Bracts present at the time of maximum flowering (infl. in semi-shade) > Calyx lobes c. 1.5mm long, broadly triangular. Petals 8-9 - (10) in nimber, golden, ^-7 x 2-2.5mm linear or linear-elliptic. Stamens 5-7mm long; whorls little difference in length, yellow. Styles c. 3mm long, greenish-yellow. Scales c. 0.5mm long and wide, almost square except for emarginate apex, translucent white.
