Habitat:
Steep slope, in Argyranthemum thicket. Adventive.
Notes:
Glabrous, arborescent plant with trunk to c. 40 cm high and 1 cm wide. Leaves in terminal rosettes (only a small lateral rosette available). Leaves to 6 x 3 cm. c.3 mm thick, obovate, spathulate, green, slightly concave above and convex below; margin red in upper part, apex slightly apiculate. Infl. c.20 × 17 cm when coll., not quite flowering, ovoid-pyramidal glabrous; flowers not obviously secund. calyx lobes 3-3.5 mm long, triangular. Petals 9-10 in number, 9.5-10 × 2.7 mm, pale yellow. Stamens 8.5-9 mm, cream. Styles c. 5mm, ± cream. Scales c. 1mm long ± broadly rectangular-cuneate, white. Flowers opening when placed in a warm sunny room after a few days.
