Habitat:
Steep, S-facing alpine slopes with marble outcrops, talus slopes, and alpine grassland with shrubs; dominated by Rytidosperma cf. gracile, Poa colensoi, Hebe glaucophylla, H. topiaria, Celmisia spectabilis var. angustifolia, Muehlenbeckia axillaris and Podocarpus nivalis, some Olearia spp. on lower slopes; 1310-1470 m a.s.l.
