Habitat:
On steep, west-facing slope.
Notes:
Small much-branched spreading shrub c.30 cm high. Lvs in terminal rosettes, 7-10cm across. Lvs mostly 3-5 x 1.5-2.5cm, obovate to broadly spathulate, 5-7mm thick, glaucous with red-purple margin towards mucronate apex upper surface slightly concave, lower keeled and convex. Infl. mostly 10-15cm long, infl. lvs ciliate, otherwise infl. glabrous. Sepals 5-6mm long, triangular, reddish-purple tinged on exposed side. Petals c. 1cm long, c. 4mm wide, ± elliptic ovate, whitish, rosy-tinged towards base. Stamens and styles white or pink tinged, 7-9, anthers 1mm long. Scales c. 0.5 x 1mm, Filaments widened to base broadly retuse. Very common.
