Near top of very steep cliff, facing north.
Notes:
A common variant among the commoner form represented by CHR 437271 (Sykes 441/86). Small suberect, branched shrub, to c.60cm high. Leaves in terminal rosettes 7-11cm diameter, green with red margin usually present, to 7x3cm, 5-6cm thick. Slightly concave above, convex below, apiculate. Inflorescence stems 40-50cm tall; inflorescence pyramidal, c.25 x 22cm. Bracts 5-20mm, lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, pink-tinged. Sepals 3-4mm long, ± triangular, brownish-green, acute. Petals 8-9-(10), 8-8.5mm long, pale yellow or cream, ± lanceolate-elliptic, subacute. Stamens white, longer outer ones c.6mm, inner ones c.5mm long. Glands 0.6-0.8 x c.1mm, rectangular, white. Carpels white.
