Small herb; stems decumbent, rooting towards base. Lvs fleshy tightly & densely imbricate & spirally (alternate) arranged - 2-3 × 1.5 - 2mm, triangular - ovoid 0.8 - 1.5 mm thick, green, brownish-pink towards apex & margins; apex obtuse; lower part of stems becoming partly silvery because of persistent dead

Supplementary remarks:
Continued. shrivelled and dried leaves. Fls few (5-10), terminal mostly. Sepals 2-2.5 mm long, equal, lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, green, tipped pinkish, somewhat rounded on back, apex obtuse. Petals 4.7 -5.1 × c. 1.2 mm, lanceolate, white with pink stripe down middle on the outside, apex obtuse. Stamens c. 2.5 to 3.7 mm (inner & outer whorls respectively); filaments white; anthers purple. Carpels white; styles c. 1mm long. Glands c. 0.2 mm diam., square or nearly so; apex truncate or retuse. Small adventive population in Alexandra in 1982
