thallus epiphyllous, thin crustose; perithecia naked, globose, 0.1-0.15mm Ø, black, ornamented with usually five whitish setae 100-150µm long; ascospores ellipsoid, 3-septate, 8/ascus, biseriate in the ascus, 15-20 X 3-3.5µm
