Habitat:
Humus on ledge of grewacke outcrop. Alpine herbfields associated with deeply cut stream gorges in Chionochloa flavescens - Chionochloa crassiuscula tussock grassland; greywacke bedrock; 1340-1450 m elevation.
Notes:
C. fr.Synoicous (more or less paroicous). Endostome segments well-developed, perforate. Cilia extremely reduced, not appendiculate, often only short projections of basal membrane. Spores 21-30µ. Leaves entire, bordered, plane or more or less recurved below. Costae stout, more or less percurrent.
