Carex anillaris? I called this by the above name as it was the nearest agreeing species in Cheeseman list, but it seems to me more to resemble a near related species Carex remota. Grows very commonly in damp shady roadsides & shady places generally between St Heliers & Remuera districts, Auckland, densely tufted in large clumps, drooping.
