Large tree c.30m with massive grey fissured trunk and spreading branches.Shoots pendulous, brownish-yellow, terete. Young leaves viscid, shinning brown. Catkins pendulous,13-19cm at this date. Cup-shaped disc 1.5-2mm, margin irregular. Capsule subglobose, excluding beak, c.1cm at this time.
