Forest on fairly steep slope dominated by Syzygiumclusiifolium
Notes:
Frequent in forest throughout island, small tree; c. 7m tall; trunk 7cm dia; branches almost erect; ovary and back of calyx dull mauve; calyx greenish within; anthers yellow; inflorescence with odor not dissimilar to Geniostoma; split petioles with only slight, if any, odor. Tongan name: "tanetane, tanetane voa"
