Supplementary remarks:
Pittosporum obcordatum var. kaitaiensis Laing & Gourlay The protologue is vague about the type locality "Kaitaia" and collectors of the type "R.H. Matthews, H. Carse". All specimens likely to have been seen by Laing or Gourlay will be syntypes. CHR 334005 will have been seen at CANTY by Laing, while it is difficult to say whether CHR 11947, WELT 35927, WELT 35925 were seen by the authors. Possibly CHR 334005 constitutes the holotype.
