Supplementary remarks:
"Pukeatua" was not found on the maps west of lake Taupo. In 1919 Petrie moved to live on his farm in the Whangaripo Valley, Wellsford. Pukeatua 36° 42'S 174° 40'E is in the same vacinity. (F. Pitt, National Museum 14.6.1989).
Supplementary remarks:
According to the New Zealand Gazetteer (L.I.N.Z) there are 11 sites called "Pukeatua". There is a hill called "Pukeatua" south of Taumaranui, west of lake Taupo, 39.058S 175.216E, which has been used for this reference. (P Greer, Allan Herbarium, 9.4.2019)
