Notes:
Forming mats. Same as seen on Mount Peel (but not collected) Christmas 1950, J.A. Hay, and thought to be Gentiana gracilifolia because of the very marked turf-forming habit. Specimens of Gentiana gracilifolia at Dominion Museum show no evidence of turf-forming habit, and there are no notes to this effect on the labels. Large size of flower and calyx lobes and the small uniform leaves show it to be Gentiana bellidifolia, and the turf-forming habit may turn out to be characteristic of Gentiana bellidifolia var. australis. J.A. Hay 2 August 1951.
