Supplementary remarks:
I consider this to be an highly instructive specimen. I now believe (12 Oct 2007) that this form of Wikjia deserves recognition at either the varietal or species level.
Flagellate microphyllous branches present: leaves decidedly dimorphic but the stem leaves less abruptly than in representatve W. [Wijkia] extenuata; abaxial laminal papillae (rather inconspicuous but clearly visibly in upper portion of branch leaves (an entire branch wet-mounted).
Stem leaves 1.2-1.4 × 0.4-0.5 mm (apparently best developed nr. [near] stem apex), rather abruptly tapered from a broadly ovate base to a narrowly acuminate apex; mid-laminal cells linear-rhombic, 38-54 × c. 6 µm, firm-walled not porose; basal cells shorter, strongly porose, and weakly yellow-pigmented in a few rows; Alar cells highly differentiated, 3-4 cells higly inflated and thin-walled in the basal row, with 3-4 cells above strongly inflated but slightly smaller and with several ± irregular supra-alar cells
Well-developed branch leaves ovate-lanceolate, ± evenly tapered to a narrowly acaute apex, mostly 0.7-0.8 mm (under coverslip), entire; Upper laminal cells of br [branch] leaves linear-rhombic, 38-54 × c.6 µm, firm-walled, not porose, with low seriate papillae on abaxial surface.
