This specimen (CHR 2305) was originally assigned the number CHR 179. That number was also assigned to Nothofagus (undet) which has retained CHR 179.
Supplementary remarks:
No. 179 was the original number of this specimen, the label is in the same format as other early accessions. The number was duplicated and this specimen was renumbered 2305, most likely as early as the 1930’s.
The Herbarium of the Plant Research Station, Department of Agriculture, eventually became the Allan Herbarium, CHR.
