On open roadside bank; among grass or on steep faces. From near sea level to c.200ft.
Notes:
Herbs are often straggling habit, & usually branching from near the base. Specimens selected to show a range of population variation. Leaves often purple below. Rays and disc yellow.

Supplementary remarks:
In this population a count of about 60 heads gave a range of phyllary numbers from 12 to 17, with a mode of 13. The number of rays was from 10 to 14 with a mode of 13. The length of the ligules was from 3.5-7mm. Sheet I has no rays.
