P. confertifolia was considered by Hatch (T.R.S.N.Z. 75(3):369) to be identical with P. humilis. Examination of the labellum and stigma, however, show it to be P. venosa.

Specimen notes
Supplementary remarks:
It appears that there are no specimens labelled P. confertifolia or otherwise answering to description and locality in either Auckland or Dominion Museums. I therefore assume that this is the TYPE specimen collected by Dr. H.H. Allan and described in TRNZI 56 (1926) 32.
