Fls. secund on spike, upper tepals arching to form a hood. Anthers mauve. Tepals pink with purple base & inner, lower tepal marked with purple higher up. The purple markings suggest this hybid group which is the taxon responsible for the development of many modern cultivars. The small population persisting in Low Flat must have been there for many years.
