Habitat:
On rotten wood and rock; occasional in study plot. Weinmannia racemosa dominated seral forest with scattered Metrosideros umbellata, Griselinia littoralis, Nothofagus menziesii, and senescent Leptospermum scoparium; developed on slip face dated at 73 years; granite gneiss bedrock; ca. 30° slope; northeast exposure.
