Habitat:
Moist humis over gneiss, in crevice. Southwest facing stream gorge with granite and granite gneiss bedrock in uppermost subalpine zone, with few large shrubs; Dracophyllum longifolium, Dracophyllum uniflorum, Olearia colensoi and various snow tussock grasses conspicuous; 1050-1140 m a.s.l.
